As the province beefs up youth development programs and campaigns against drug abuse among young people, the provincial government conducts series of symposiums and consultative workshops engaging youth leaders from all sectors.
The Anti-Drug Campaign and Multi-Sectoral Consultative Workshop is designed to involve young leaders from all sectors such as students, out of school youth, Indigenous Peoples (IP), Moro youth, religious sector, and youth farmers from different local government units (LGUs) for them to become partners in the provincial government’s youth programs.
It also aims to provide the participants basic information relative to the dangers of drug abuse and to motivate them to actively involve in drug prevention community programs.
During the workshop, participants will engage in a small group discussion and group activity to effectively determine the issues and concerns of the youth in the community or organization that they represent.
The one-day activity is spearheaded by the Provincial Governor’s Office-Provincial Youth Development Office ( PGO-PYDO), in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan Provincial Federation and the Provincial Child and Youth Council.
As of this writing, the PGO-PYDO has already conducted the said activity in the municipalities of Aleosan, Arakan, Makilala, President Roxas and Pikit. Today, the team is also conducting the same activity in the municipality of Mlang.//with reports and photos from PGO-PYDO//
